Bethany thought the trip to New York City was just a weekend getaway, but little did she know what was in store for her.
They got to town early, and Brian mentioned they had an Alice in Wonderland statue in Central Park. So they hopped in a taxi and this is when Brian had to start improvising. When they got to the statue, they did the touristy thing and Bethany sat up there with Alice for a quick pic. Brian had planned on proposing here, but after her photo, Bethany got "hangry" (rage felt when you get really hungry). So Brian figured its not a good idea to propose to an angry woman.
As they were walking south in the park, he thought about another spot where they shoot a lot of movies because its so romantic, but guess who else knows this...the horse and carriage drivers. So they get there and the whole place smells like horse urine. Well, that just ruined the mood and they got a quick picture and moved on.
Now Brian is scrambling for ideas. Then he thought, let me take her to the first place in Central Park he visited years ago. They stopped by a rock outcropping known as umpire rock and this was nice because it also is a geocache. Brian thought about proposing on top of the rocks, but Bethany did not like the traction there and the last thing he needed was her falling down after getting the ring. As they got off the rocks, Brian stopped them, and dropped to one knee and...
Brian pulled out some tissue paper from his pocket. Bethany thought he had to blow his nose or something, but as he unfolded it, she started to realize what is going on. Then Bethany says, "You're doing this here!" Then she started to cry tears of joy.
Of course she said yes! |
