I am not a lover of surprises but Tom did surprise me with a wedding proposal during Lilith’s second birthday party.

Tom decided to play the game ‘unwrap the present’ (which is totally not a game for two year olds).  I was not into it and game him a few fine words on why we should not play the silly game.  Of course Tom did not listen and off we went to unwrap the presents. 

In the photos leading up to the proposal my face said it all: I was cranky – seriously, why are we playing this game it is insane.

Then it was Lilith’s turn to unwrap the present, so with my help we opened the present and there they were: a ring for me and a princess crown for Lilith.

I was completely surprised.
