They went out on the town that night and have been together since!

After a wonderful, eventful year together he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.  Christmas was near and she had one present on her mind-Uggs.  That Christmas Eve was the perfect moment to execute the plan. With all of their family around, food and presents galore, he hid the ring inside of a pair of boots she was wanting. While everyone was opening presents ,this specific present was being held until last. While the last presents were being opened he grabbed this big box, waiting to see the look on her face. As she opened the present she realized what it was and did not even think twice. She gave him a hug and a kiss, thanking him for the boots, and started to move on. With all of his effort he tried to get her to "try them on" or "feel how soft they are," but she replied, "these are what I wanted, I already know what they feel like and they're my size so they'll fit." Without a second passing, he put her hand in the boot and grabbed the ring from the bottom. Her mouth had no words, her eyes were filled with joy. As he grabbed the box and took a deep breath, he asked for everyone’s attention. As everyone was looking, he got down on one knee with his voice cracking from nerves. As cool and collected as he thought he was, the words "Christina Marie Sawtell, will you marry me?" came out like lightning. She didn’t realize how fast he asked and just wanted to say "YES!" 

We chose to have an island wedding while on a cruise so we can celebrate with friends and family for a whole week rather than just one day!  We will get married at the first stop, St. Croix, and the rest of the week will be an extended celebration with family, friends, joy, love, and adventure!
