It all started with a swipe...JSwipe that is.  JSwipe is the Jewish Tinder, an online dating app where you can search through literally hundreds of singles in your area with just a screen swipe to the left or right.  On the fateful evening of October 3, 2016, both Sara and Matt logged into their accounts just like they'd done time and time before, but this was no ordinary swipe session.  Prior to this night, the only successes either of them had had with online dating were laughing at crazy pictures and sharing funny botched dating stories with their friends.  The night that Sara and Matt matched and they were notified that they could start chatting, both drew in a hopeful yet realistic breath and forged ahead, praying that this would be the last dating app conversation they'd ever have to endure.  Within minutes, they could tell that things were different this time.

Since texting is the only way to communicate through JSwipe, their quick wit and charm shone through right away, making it easy to dispell with the typical conversation ("how was your day?" and "what did you do for dinner?" type stuff). As they started to sense each other's personalities, the chat became more like banter between old friends with charming jokes and quick-witted responses flying back and forth.  It wasn't long before they were sharing insights into the life experiences that helped them become who they were that day.  The kicker was when Sara told Matt about her time as a cheerleader at Indiana...

Sara:  And I was a college athlete too!

Matt:  Oh yeah?  What sport did you play?

Sara:  Cheerleading.

Little did Sara know that Matt had been involved in the cheerleading world since his freshman year in high school.  He mischeviously thought to himself "Oh...I got this."

Matt:  Cheerleading is not a sport.

Silence.  It looked like the joke didn't go off as well as Matt hoped, and he panicked.  He started typing his mea culpa as fast as his little thumbs would let him.  As he wrote nearly a paragraph about his involvement in the cheer world from high school through college to teaching camps and now running a music company specific to cheer and dance, three little dots appeared up on the bottom of his screen.  Sara was responding...

Sara:  Excuse me...

Sara was proud of her time as a cheerleader at Indiana and was used to guys she'd dated disrespecting her athleticism and experience. Things were going so well and she was disappointed that Matt might be just another one of "those guys."  Sensing a huge overestimation of Sara's ability to read his sarcasm, Matt thought "Oh s***".  He typed faster than ever before and pressed send on the message about his lifetime of cheerleading experience.

Sara:  No way.

Matt:  Yeah, I promise.  You said you cheered at Indiana, right?  Was that before or after Tony Nash took over the program?

Tony is a well known coach, but you'd only know of him if you were in the cheer world or had been on the team at Indiana.

Sara:  NO WAY!!!

"PHEW!"  Matt let out a sigh of relief.  Crisis averted, and the conversation continued well into the night even though Sara had been up for hours since she had the early shift at One Medical that morning and had to fight 2 hours of traffic on the 405, both ways.  Before they ended their hours-long chat, they set a date for the following afternoon at The Grove and the rest, as they say, is history.  A stop at the bookstore led to a little walking and talking, then lunch followed by laughter and before they knew it, it was midnight and Matt hadn't fed his dogs yet.  He left, regretfully, but let Sara know that he wasn't the typical guy and he would like to see her again the next day.  She, with stars in her eyes and a goodnight kiss, obliged.

Since that day, Sara and Matt haven't spent a single day apart.
