Depending on who you ask depends on what story you get, because to this day they can't agree on exactly how it went down.

They met at church on Easter Sunday in 2009. Abdi thought she was pretty so he asked one of his friends for her number, he texted, she responded.

It was only a text back and forth here and there for awhile, Abdi was a huge flirt, but Brittany wasn't quite interested yet. 

Then Brittany decided she would give this a chance and let him know she liked him, at the same time Abdi found out she hadn't quite turned 18 yet(she would in four months). So the tables turned, Abdi decided it was a no go and Brittany was down to try. 

After some long discussions and multiple conversations, they decided they would be friends and get to know each other until Brittany turned 18. 

So at midnight on August 7 of 2009 Abdi asked her to be his girlfriend. 

It hasn't been easy and there have definitely been some bumps in the road between then and now, but they have made it through, they love each other, and they know without a doubt that they would to ant to spend a single day not being with each other.

Some say they took too long, or that they can't believe they're still together. But everything is perfect in Gods time, and the past five years have allowed them to grow together and fall even more in love with each other.
