Bride

In November of 2006, I decided to leave land and head for a life at sea and work aboard cruise ships.

Off I went to London, England for training and when I arrived at the academy I was lost – the taxi cab driver said, “Just follow that guy.”  Well, that guy was Tom and I have been following him ever since.

Who would have thought that I would meet the love of my life in Watford? Not me, but that is exactly what happened.

In 2006 I made the decision to leave Dublin to work on the cruise ships. You can imagine my surprise when I found out that I would have to spend 2 weeks in Watford staying at the super classy YMCA. It was not the glamorous start to my adventure that I had expected.

I made my way to Watford and arrived late on Sunday night. As I was at the front desk checking in, I had not been there 5 minutes, I heard footsteps on the stairs. I looked around and saw this beautiful girl climbing the stairs heading to the desk. I stepped aside to give her some room and she put her passport on the counter beside me. It was a Canadian passport. I looked at her and said ¨Hey, you're Canadian. Me Too.¨ And that is how I met Billie.

She told me later that when I said I was Canadian, she thought, not with that accent you're not but it was too late, I was hooked.
